Overview

The Date Check app supports the four main types of dependencies, namely:

  1. Finish-to-Start [FS]
  2. Start-to- Start [SS]
  3. Finish-to-Finish [FF]
  4. Start-to-Finish [SF]

Finish-to-start is the most common type of project management dependency. This type of dependency requires that one activity must be completed before another one can start. For example, a contractor cannot begin to build a house until they have completed the foundation.

Start-to-start dependencies occur when the start of one activity is dependent on the start of another activity. This type of dependency is typically used for activities that are related, but not necessarily dependent on each other. For example, if a project requires the creation of both a website and a mobile app, the start of the website development can be dependent on the start of the mobile app development.

Finish-to-finish dependencies require that one activity must be completed before another one can be finished. This type of dependency is often used when activities must happen in sequence, such as when creating a software program. The code must be written before the software can be tested, and the software must be tested before it can be released.

Start-to-finish dependencies are used when the completion of one activity is dependent on the start of another activity. This type of dependency is often seen when activities must be completed in parallel, such as when creating a marketing campaign. The content creation must begin before the campaign can be launched, and the campaign must be launched before the results can be assessed.
