How to use a template

Templates can be used in two ways:

  1. Using Automations
  2. Using Integrations

To use an automation or an integration, you will need an action.

Actions in monday.com are what happens when a trigger is trigger.

For example, when a button is clicked, change status.

when a button is clicked – Trigger

change status – Action

Action Types

The Date Check app has three main action types

  1. Base actions.
These are actions that are not based on durations or dependencies.
For example, check country and template holiday and take action by number of holidays.
This action does not require a duration or dependency column.
Usage: Can be used for both Automations and Integrations
  2. Duration actions
These are actions that require a duration (number) column to operate.
For example, [Duration] Update date or timeline duration based on holidays in country
Usage: Can be used for both Automations and Integrations
  3. Dependency actions
These are actions that require a dependency types column and an adjustment (lag/lead) column to operate.
For example, When a button is clicked, update this date or timeline using this dependency, dependency type, duration, adjustment (lead/lag), person column and do this action using holidays in this template
Usage: Currently, can only be used with Automations and Integrations
